Special Initiatives For Students Of Sikkim And NE Region
We believe education can make a positive difference to the youth belonging to the North East and we consistently strive towards making education more accessible without compromising on the quality of delivery. The University has designed special fee waiver for students of Sikkim and the North East region. The fee waiver benefit of 30% (Thirty percent) were announced during the 14th Annual Convocation.
Candidates from states of Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya Manipur, Tripura and Mizoram having valid address proof, may avail the fee waiver benefit.
Divyang
Differently abled personnel can avail a 30% fee concession under the Divyang scholarship scheme. The scholarship opportunities were announced in 2016 and can be availed by family members/dependents of the candidates too.
A valid certificate from an authorised doctor is mandatory to avail the scholarship.
For Defence Personnel
The Indian Armed Forces are responsible for India’s security and freedom. They are highly revered for their fortitude and sense of duty by the entire country.
We feel their achievements and exemplary contribution to the country must not only be acknowledged, but also be celebrated. As a mark of respect to their contributions and to boost the educational empowerment of Indian Armed Forces, Sikkim Manipal University Directorate of Distance Education (SMU-DE) will be offering concession on fees to the in-service, retired and outgoing officers of the Indian Armed Forces.
To take the University’s initiatives forward and to appreciate the commitment of the Armed Forces, Indian Coast Guard and Paramilitary Forces (CRPF, BSF, CISF), SMU-DE will be offering a concession of 30% on the tuition fee of our educational courses to all defence personnel and their family members.
