"Manipal Law School, Bengaluru, is pleased to host its Annual Law Lecture on the theme “Personal Liberty and Bail Jurisprudence.” The lecture will be delivered by Justice Abhay S. Oka, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India and former Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court.
Justice Oka is widely respected for his contributions to constitutional and criminal jurisprudence, particularly his emphasis on the protection of personal liberty and the importance of bail as a safeguard against unjust incarceration. His judgments have consistently highlighted the need to balance the powers of the state with the fundamental rights of individuals.
The lecture will take place on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Dr. Ramdas M Pai Convention Hall, MAHE Bengaluru Campus. This annual lecture aims to provide students, faculty, and members of the legal community an opportunity to engage with important contemporary questions in law and constitutional governance.
