Overview
The M.Sc. Dietetics & Applied Nutrition at WGSHA, Manipal is a two-year postgraduate programme designed to develop future-ready nutrition professionals with expertise in food, wellness, innovation, and sustainable nutrition solutions.
The programme integrates the science of nutrition with culinary excellence, food innovation, precision nutrition, holistic wellness, and healthy ageing. Students gain practical experience through experiential learning, product development, research, industry projects, and a comprehensive internship, enabling them to design evidence-based nutrition solutions for individuals, communities, hospitality, food businesses, and wellness organisations.

Course Objectives
The programme aims to:
- Build advanced knowledge in Nutrition Science and its application across food, wellness, hospitality, and lifestyle sectors.
- Develop expertise in Culinary Nutrition, enabling students to create nutritious, appealing, and sustainable food experiences through innovative menu and recipe development.
- Equip students with the principles of Precision Nutrition to design personalised nutrition strategies based on individual needs, lifestyle, and emerging scientific evidence.
- Promote an understanding of Holistic Wellness, integrating nutrition with physical, mental, and environmental well-being to promote healthier lifestyles.
- Develop competencies in Food Innovation, including functional foods, product development, food preservation, food safety, sensory evaluation, and sustainable food systems.
- Prepare students to address the nutritional needs of an ageing population through specialised knowledge in Senior Care Nutrition and healthy ageing.
