AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE
To encourage the students’ performance on academics, the college has instituted the following awards for meritorious students.
Distinction Awards
Any student who score a distinction (GPA 7.5 and above) in the university examinations held, would be honoured with distinction award on the Annual Day by the chief guest.
Academic Excellence Awards
Academic excellence awards honours the students who excel in the university examinations held at the end of every academic session.
- Academic excellence award for the students who stands first, second and third in the classes of First Year, Second Year, Third Year and Fourth Year BPharm and First, Second and Third positions of First Year, Second Year, Third Year Fourth and Fifth Year PharmD.
- Academic excellence award for first year MPharm students is given to the student who stands first in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Marketing, Pharmaceutical Administration , Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance , Drug Regulatory Affairs and Industrial Pharmacy specialisations.
- The Best Outgoing Student of M Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Marketing, Pharmaceutical Administration , Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance , Drug Regulatory Affairs and Industrial Pharmacy specialisations.
Endowment Awards
- Late Prof N K Basu Award for the Best outgoing student in Pharmaceutical Chemistry subjects of B Pharm course : The award was instituted by Late Prof N K Basu, the first Director of our institution.
- Prof N Krishnamoorthy Award for the Best outgoing student in all Pharmaceutics subjects of B Pharm course : The award was instituted by Prof N Krishnamoorthy, the Second Director of our institution.
- Dr P Gundu Rao's Meritorious Award for the best outgoing student of M Pharm course at Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences : The award was instituted by Dr P Gundu Rao, the Third Director of our institution.
- Late Prof S Sankarasubramanian Award : For the best performance in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology subjects of Final Year B Pharm course : The award was instituted by Dr K V S R G Prasad and Dr KK Srinivasan in the memory of their teacher Late Prof S Sankarasubramanian, the Fourth Director of our institution.
- ·Dr M N Guruswamy Award for the best performance in Pharmacology subjects of B Pharm course : The award was instituted by Dr M N Guruswamy, our former HOD of Pharmacology Department.
- Late Dr M A Iyengar Award for standing first in Pharmacognosy subjects of B Pharm course : The award was instituted by Dr M A Iyengar, the First HOD of Pharmacognosy Department and his fellow researchers.
- The BPRL, Bangalore and the Pfizer Ltd, Mumbai Awards for the First Rank holder in B Pharm. The prizes were instituted by BPRL, Bangalore and the Pfizer Ltd, Mumbai respectively.
- Anand Chandavarkar Memorial Scholarship for the final year B Pharm student who scores highest marks and pursues post-graduation in MCOPS : The scholarship was instituted by M/s FDC Ltd in the name of Anand Chandavarkar
- Atmaram Dattatreya Chandavarkar Memorial Scholarship : For the B Pharm graduate of MCOPS who pursues masters in MCOPS and secures highest marks in MPharm Part-I:The award was instituted by M/s. FDC Ltd in the name of Atmaram Dattatreya Chandavarkar
- M/s MEDREICH Ltd, Bangalore Award for the Best M Pharm Part-II Project work (Dissertation work). The award was instituted by Mr B Srinivasa Reddy, M/S MEDREICH Ltd, Bangalore
- Mr Deepak Kini and Mr Pradeep Nayak, USA Award for standing first in M Pharm Part I. The award was instituted by Mr Deepak Kini and Mr Pradeep Nayak, USA, Alumni of MCOPS.
- Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research Award for standing first in M Pharm First Year in the Department of Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs & Management of MCOPS: The award was instituted by Dr M Burande in the name of Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research
- Hospital Pharmacy Foundation, Delhi Award for the Topper of Pharm D Programme The prize was instituted by Hospital Pharmacy Foundation, New Delhi
- Lupin Scholarship for the Topper of M Pharm Part - I Pharmaceutics specialisation : The prize was instituted by Lupin Limited (Research Park), Pune
- Late Mr Joseph Colaco Award for the Best Outgoing Student of B Pharm programme. The award was instituted by Mr Michael Sreshta, our Alumnus, in memory of his friend late Mr. Joseph Colaco”
- Mrs Murti Devi Yadav Award for the Top Performance in Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry subject of B Pharm First Year. The award was instituted by Mr Ravi Kant Yadav, our alumnus, in the name of his loving mother Mrs Murti Devi Yadav
- Late Shri K Padmanabha Bhat award for the best performers in the subjects of Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance of B Pharm. - Award to honor the student who scores highest marks in the B Pharm subjects of Department of Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs & Management. The award was instituted by Mr Shazli A Khan, MCOPS Alumnus, in the name of his loving parents.
- ·Josyulas Academic Excellence Award to honor a student who scores highest aggregate marks in the subjects of Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. The award was instituted by Dr J Venkata Rao, former Professor of Department of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, in memory of his parents Smt Josyula Parvata Vardhani and Sri Josyula Srirama Murthy
- Lalith Kumar Mittal Scholarship Fund Award for the Best Outgoing Student of Department of Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs & Management. The award was instituted by Mr Lalith Kumar Mittal, MCOPS Alumnus, Department of Pharmacy Management, MCOPS

- Prof D R Kulkarni Award for the Best Outgoing Student in Pharmacology subjects of BPharm Programme. The award was instituted by Dr C Mallikarjuna Rao, Principal, MCOPS, in fond memory of his beloved Professor Late Dr Dhruraj Rangarao Kulkarni, an erstwhile Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology, KMC, Manipal.
- Dr M Suvarchala Award for the student who scores highest marks in Human Anatomy & Physiology, Medicinal Biochemistry, Pathophysiology and Pharmaceutical Microbiology subjects of PharmD Programme. The award was instituted by Dr C Mallikarjuna Rao, Principal, MCOPS, in fond memory of his loving Aunty Late Dr Mallampati Suvarchala, a former Professor of Microbiology, KMC, Manipal.
- Prof Koganti Bharathi Memorial Award for the Best Outgoing Student in MPharm Pharmaceutical Chemistry specialisation. The award was instituted by her family members, in fond memory of Late Prof Koganti Bharathi, former Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, MCOPS and Professor, Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati.
- Dr Alex Joseph Memorial Award for the Best Performer in the Medicinal Chemistry I & II subjects of IV and V Semesters of BPharm programme. The award is instituted by Dr Angel Treasa Alex, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, MCOPS, in fond memory of her beloved husband, Late Dr Alex Joseph, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, MCOPS, MAHE, Manipal.
- Best PhD Scholar Award for MCOPS Research Scholar who completed PhD with excellent Research Output in a particular Calendar Year. The award is instituted by Dr Srinivas Mutalik, Principal & Professor, MCOPS, in fond memory of his parents Sri Sarvottam Rao and Smt Shakuntala Bai.

Travel/Contingency Grant Awards for Full time Research Scholars of MCOPS
These award are instituted by Dr N Udupa, Former Principal of MCOPS and currently, Director, Research(Health Sciences), Manipal Academy of Higher Education encouraging the young full-time researchers for presenting their research findings at well reputed conferences relevant to their field of research, in India and abroad.
