FDP on Integrating Design Thinking with Problem & Project-Based Learning

The Faculty Development Program (FDP) Tier 02 titled "Synergising Problem & Project Based Learning with Design Thinking" was successfully conducted from 7th to 9th July 2025 at MIT Manipal. Led by Dr. Deepak L. Waikar, Adjunct Faculty and Research Fellow at the Singapore Institute of Technology.
The program was organized for faculty members with around five years of teaching experience and saw participation from 30 members across various departments. Inaugurated by Cdr. (Dr.) Anil Rana, Director of MIT Manipal, the FDP focused on empowering educators with innovative pedagogical tools that integrate problem-based and project-based learning with design thinking. The sessions were practical and insightful, offering faculty new strategies to foster creativity, innovation, and active engagement among students. Participants appreciated the hands-on approach and its relevance to real-world teaching scenarios.
The valedictory session, held on 9th July 2025, was presided over by Dr. Chandrakala C B, Joint Director, MIT Manipal, who commended the program’s impact on enhancing teaching effectiveness.
