Did you just finish your masters/bachelors program and are looking for a job? Have you tried your hand at job fairs?

Job fairs are critical to both recruiters and jobseekers. They are among the preferred and effective ways of searching the right talent. They are also a great way to network and find relevant job opportunities. These one-two day events bring together a large group of employers and jobseekers, offering a wide variety to both the parties.

SMU-DE job fairs

Whether you finished your education through a distance university or went the traditional way, job fairs will not disappoint you. In fact, universities like SMU-DE are recognised for conducting job fairs periodically, giving their students an edge over others. SMU-DE recently organised job fairs in two of India’s biggest cities – Mumbai and Delhi, and they were a success! Well, the numbers speak for themselves, here is a look:

Some of the biggest recruiters at SMU-DE’s Delhi Jumbo Job and Career Fair 2017 were IBM, Justdial, Genpact, The Leela, Eureka Forbes, IndiGo and Kazo. The event partners for Mumbai’s Jumbo Job Fair 2017 were ICICI Bank, Axis Securities, Justdial, HDFC Realty, IIFL and Mahindra Finance to name a few.

Both the job fairs saw a spectacular response rate, with Mumbai witnessing about 800 SMU-DE student/alumni walk-ins and the number went close to 1000 in the case of Delhi. Approximately 25 companies participated in both the job fairs. The number of jobseekers shortlisted for the final round was 385 in Mumbai and 425 in Delhi. Out of them, 23 made the cut in Mumbai. In Delhi, close to 60 SMU-DE alumni/students were offered jobs by the end of the event.

The participants appeared seemingly excited about the opportunity offering them industry exposure and a chance to create the right professional connections. Looking forward to more such job fairs!
