Nasha Mukt Club, Prasanna School of Public Health (PSPH), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal organised a Panel Discussion on the topic mental health, social impact and clinical realities of substance abuse for the PSPH students. It was a thought-provoking discussion on the realities of substance abuse, its impact, and the path to recovery.
Dr Teddy Andrews initiated the discussion. The panellists shared their experience regarding substance abuse disorder (consumption of drugs, tobacco, alcohol); mental health issues, physical health issues faced by people in the community and the problems faced by students; the significance of counselling for students, ; how support, encouragement, love, care and affection can help everyone to recover in life; health issues faced by people due to substance abuse and the treatment for these issues.
