The National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) is an apex and advisory body to the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment which is engaged in training and sensitization programmes in the fields of Welfare of Transgender Persons, Beggary Prevention, Old Age Care, Drug Abuse Prevention, etc and also engaged in research and documentation activities in the field of Social Defence. Besides, it conducts Research in the areas of Social Defence.
To equip social work educators on Social Defence Issues, NISD organized a National Level Three-Day Training Programme for social work educators on the core Social Issues to expand its reach to the community through social work teaching, practice and research at the National Institute of Social Defence, Dwarka, New Delhi from February 05 to 07, 2024.
