“IMPORTANCE OF EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE IN NURSING”

Manipal School of Nursing has organized a session on “Importance of Evidence-Based Practice in Nursing" on June 12, 2025, at 3.00 pm as part of the UG/PG vertical of Pillar 2 (IOE): Exemplary Research and Innovation of Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal. The target audience was 52 II Year Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery students. Dr. Shalini Ganesh Nayak, Assistant Professor (Senior scale), Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, MCON, MAHE, Manipal, was the resource person for the session. She has provided an explanation of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) in Nursing, detailing its aims and objectives, the various steps involved, as well as its advantages and disadvantages. Additionally, she has discussed the barriers to implementation and offered a comprehensive, practical application of EBP, supported by relevant examples. The discussion also encompassed the research associated with EBP and its application. Ms. Shobha, Assistant Lecturer, Manipal School of Nursing, coordinated the session. The session was motivating and engaging through active learning exercises. This session contributed to SDG 4: "Quality Education".
