International Student Guest Talk

As part of SDG 5 gender equality, the Department of Community Health Nursing organized an International student guest talk on LGBTQ: An international perceptive by Ms. Alice Klint, a Nursing student of Malmo University on 23rd March 2023 from 3.00 to 3.45 PM at Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal. Dr. Shashidhara YN, Professor & Head, Dept of Community Health Nursing MCON, introduce the speaker to the audience. Ms. Klint explained what is LGBTQ and how they are different from each other, and how they should be pronounced as he/she/ they/zi with appropriate examples. Ms. Alice also explained the rights of LGBTQ in Sweden, in contrast with India, and concluded with a question and answer session with a reference to social organizations. Dr. Shashidhara concluded and expressed gratitude to Ms. Alice for her efforts in organizing the event. About 60 participants attended the program, both offline and online.
