Report on “Development of Research Tool” workshop

The Exemplary Research & Innovation Team—Institute of Eminence (IoE) of Manipal College of Nursing (MCON), MAHE, Manipal organized a one-day workshop on “Development of Research Tools” on July 3, 2024. The workshop aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of research tools, from basic concepts to hands-on applications, for UG and PG students. The event featured a series of sessions covering various aspects of research tool development, including fundamental principles and practical applications.
Mrs. Pratibha, Assistant Professor (Senior Scale), Department of OBG Nursing, MCON, MAHE, Manipal, and convenor of the workshop, welcomed the gathering and provided an overview of the workshop. The first session, led by Dr. Judith A Noronha, Professor & Dean, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal, focused on the “Overview of Data Collection Tools.” She described the various data sources, highlighted the significance of the five W’s in research planning, and discussed the different types and advantages of data collection tools with examples.
