REPORT ON EFFECTIVE ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT GUEST LECTURE SERIES - 16/2023

To sensitize the final-year students of MSON, an alumni guest lecture on the topic ‘Care of Deteriorating Patients’ was organised by the Manipal School of Nursing, MCON, MAHE, Manipal, on November 6th, 2023, at 3.00 pm. Ms. Soumya, (alumnus of MSON-Diploma(N): 2000-2003 batch), Band 5 Registered Nurse, Integrated Assessment Centre (IAC), Boston, UK, explained the duties and responsibilities of a nurse in IAC, Boston. She discussed the ABCDE approach during the patient’s arrival. She also briefed about the National Early Warning Signs (NEWS) of Sepsis. The session was experience-driven and very informative. The lecture series was conducted onsite in the classroom of MSON and was attended by 60 students.

This guest lecture contributed to SDG 4 - ‘Quality Education’.
