Awareness program on Diabetes mellitus: Access to diabetes care
Second Year BSc Nursing students (Batch-II) along with the faculty, Department of Community Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE in association with the Primary Health Centre, organized an awareness program on Diabetes mellitus on 30th October 2021 at 11 am in Primary Health Centre, Hirebettu to observe World Diabetes Day-2021.
A role play was performed on the importance of screening, early diagnosis and accessing health care at time by 2nd year BSc Nursing students which was followed by health education on management of diabetes mellitus by Umair Shah and Nikhil Castelino. A demonstration of foot care was performed by Jesvita and Anishka. The vote of thanks was given by Flavian D'souza and Mrs Manjula also concluded the meeting.
General public about 20 people including Junior Health Assistants, PHC, Hirebettu, ASHA workers, Anganwadi teachers and PHC staff participated in the program. The programme was coordinated by Mrs Manjula, Asst. Professor, MCON MAHE, Manipal.
