Report of an Awareness Program Towards 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan - 2020
The Second year BSc Nursing students (Batch IV) along with the faculty of the department of Community Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE, Manipal have conducted a health awareness program on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on 27th February 2020 at the urban slum of Prabhu Compound, Shettibettu, Athrady.
The program started at 10:30 am with an invocation by Ms.Pruthvi D Bore which was followed by a welcome address by Ms. Kirana& a skit by Jesna James and a team of 15 students. The Skit highlighted the methods of waste and excreta disposal. The program was continued with a speech by Ms.Pruthvi D Bore, which focused on "Swacha Bharat Shresht Bharat." The next section of the program was an action dance led by Ms. Sandra Jacob and a team of 16 students, which focused on various techniques of handwashing.
A total of 20 participants including children and adults benefitted from this program. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Swathi Naik. The program was coordinated by Ms. Riya & Ms.Alfy the student representatives and supervised by Dr. Malathi G Nayak & Mrs.Manjula, faculty from the Department of Community Health Nursing.
