Student Induction Programme - 2021
Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal organized a session on “Care & Affection” as part of the student induction programme (Deeksharambh) on 05.10.2021 through Microsoft Teams for the first year BSc Nursing students (2021-22 batch).
Mrs Charmaine Crystal Salins, Nursing Training and Quality Incharge, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal was the Resource Person for the programme. She briefed the students on the evolution of health care services and the characteristics of health care customers. She emphasized on 5 “Cs” of caring such as commitment, conscience, competence, compassion and confidence given by sister M.Simone Roach. She also highlighted the qualities of a good nurse, like truthfulness, empathy, accountability, understanding patient expectations & needs, good communication etc.
A total of 96 first-year B.Sc Nursing students of the 2021-2022 batch have attended the session and the session was coordinated by Mrs Jeyalakshmi K, Assistant Professor & Dr Malathi G Nayak, Associate Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE, Manipal.
