International Faculty Visit Report

On June 19, 2020, at 10:30 am, Dr Marie Lina Excellent, Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health Leadership and Practice at the Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina (UNC), visited Manipal College of Nursing (MCON), MAHE. During the visit, Dr. Judith Angelitta Noronha, Dean of MCON, explained the programs offered, activities, and collaborative opportunities available at the college.

All the department heads of the college, the pillar heads, Dr. Anice George, Professor & Former Dean, and Dr. Tessy Treesa Jose, Associate Dean, were present. Dr. Marie showed great enthusiasm in establishing contacts with the School of Nursing and other disciplines. She also discussed the possibility of involving our graduates in quality improvement sessions and delivering an interactive session for students and faculty at MCON.

The Dean of MCON expressed her gratitude to Dr. Marie for visiting the college and showcased her eagerness to engage in collaborative activities with the University of North Carolina. The coordination of this collaborative meeting was facilitated by the Office of International MAHE and Dr. Shashidhara YN, Professor and Head, Department of Community Health Nursing, and International Students Coordinator at MCON.
