Danish Students Observership Programme at Manipal College of Nursing

The Danish students and faculty conducted health education sessions on hand hygiene, demonstrating the presence of germs on hands and emphasizing the importance of hand washing, oral hygiene, and personal hygiene to children at two schools. The students and faculty also visited the school for special children at Udupi and participated in the activities of the school.

They also experienced the local culture of Udupi district, shared by Dr. Prashant Shetty from the Department of Humanity and Philosophy. The Department of Yoga and Ayurveda introduced them to other healthcare practices in India.

Professors Rikke and Tanja, along with their students, shared their experiences on reflective practice learning and nursing programs in Denmark. Students and faculty from MCON also shared their experiences during an event on February 27, 2025, attended by about 30 members.

The students enjoyed a taste of Indian cuisine at the Welcome Group Graduate School of Hotel Administration. The entire program was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Judith A. Noronha, Dean, MCON, with support from Dr. Shashidhara YN, Mrs. Rishmitha, and Mr. Agin Jiju, International Student Coordinators, as well as Dr. Elsa Sana, Professor, and Internationalization Pillar Head, and the entire team of the Internationalization Pillar at MCON and the Office of International, MAHE. This visit contributed to the promotion of Sustainable Development Goals 3, 5, and 17.
