REPORT ON SLUM VISIT

As part of the Health and Social Welfare Committee of the Student Nurses’ Association 2022-23, the Slum visit program was conducted on 21.10.2022 from 4,00 to 6,00 pm and visited Indrali slum, Manipal, Udupi district.

A total of 30 students participated in the program and the inhabitants of the slum were given awareness on personal and environmental hygiene. There were around 30 families and all were gathered in one place and at the end of the awareness program, the families were provided with Rice, Soap, Washing powder, Sanitary pads, and Clothes which were donated by the faculty and students of MCON. Children were distributed with books, pens, pencils, erasers, and chocolates. The smile on the face of those people gave us great satisfaction in helping the needy with the little contribution from our end.
