Report of session on Menstrual Hygiene

The Health and Social Welfare Committee of the Student Nurses Association, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal, organized a session on "Menstrual Hygiene" on August 3, 2024, between 11 am and 11.30 am for the first-year BSc Nursing students. Mrs. Pratibha, Assistant Professor – Senior Scale, Department of OBG Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, was the resource person. The session focused on rituals followed during menstruation in different religions, the availability of different sanitary products, how to maintain menstrual hygiene, including the usage and disposal of sanitary products, and the simple ways to maintain environmental hygiene in the college, hostel, and hospital. Around 102 students attended the session, and it was concluded with words of gratitude expressed by Ms. Riona Dsouza, Health and Social Welfare Committee chairperson, MCON, MAHE. The session contributes to SDG 3: Good health and wellbeing.
