Report on School Health Program

As part of an outreach program, the First Year PBBSc Nursing students from Department of Child Health Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing (MCON), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, under the guidance of Dr Yashoda Sathish, Assistant Professor, Department of Child Health Nursing, MCON, Manipal organized a school health program on 24th December 2021, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The main aim of the program was to create awareness on “Accident prevention, balanced diet and prevention of communicable diseases” for the students of primary school and teachers of Government Primary School, Manchikodi, Udupi district.

The awareness program was deliberated through skit and discussion, incorporating various videos and demonstration of the personal hygiene, environmental hygiene, exercises and balanced diet for better understanding of the students. Around 50 students including the teachers participated in the program and they expressed that it was very useful and was well organized.
