REPORT ON EFFECTIVE ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT GUEST LECTURE SERIES - 03/2024

Manipal School of Nursing, MCON, MAHE, Manipal, had organized a guest lecture on the topic “ROLE OF A NURSE IN MEDICAL ASSESSMENT UNIT” by Mr. Srikantha, Band 5 Registered Nurse, North Devon District Hospital, Barnstaple, UK, on February 16, 2024, at 8 am for 3rd year DNM students.
Mr. Srikantha discussed the working environment and cases encountered in the medical assessment unit. He also stressed the process of handling emergency cases by using the National Early Warning Score (NEWS) scale. He enlightened the participants by giving instances of his clinical experience.
A total of 60 participants attended the session. It was a useful and interactive session where participants could acquire knowledge about the medical assessment unit. The session contributed to Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
